Counseling for Adults and Couples

I bring an integrative approach to the healing process. This means I value the emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of your life, and use this holistic lens to inform the arc of our work together.

I specialize in experiential learning and nature-based therapy, and I call upon the wisdom of Buddhist philosophy and body-based modalities to support inquiry through channels of intuitive knowing.

My style is equal parts traditional “talk therapy” and life coaching.  I have the training and credentials to diagnose, and treat, people who are struggling with chronic mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use (the psychotherapy part). However, our work together is focused on skill building, problem solving, developing insight, and building confidence, so you are better equipped to pursue the life you want to live (the life coaching part).  In sessions we work to understand how the past is impacting the present moment, so that you can consciously create a more fulfilling future and feel empowered to step away from old patterns that are no longer serving you.

To do this, I focus the bulk of work with people around skill building, setting intentions, and making conscious choices to create an inspiring future.  Put another way, our work together is designed to help you increase self-awareness and reconnect with your true self so that you feel empowered to step away from old patterns that are no longer serving you.

There’s no doubt about it, facing what may scare, confuse, or frustrate you takes courage and grit. The path of personal growth is a messy, nonlinear process of discovery.  I ask that you come to meetings with a willingness to roll up your sleeves, jump in, and do the work.
